The Pelham is a leverage bit, and offers the rider control over the position of the horses head. The snaffle ring enables the rider to bring the horses head up, the curb ring creates pressure to bring the horses head down.
Used mainly in jumping fields, the Pelham can also be used with equalisers between the two rings, which dulls the effect of the bit & is particularly useful for riders not wanting to have two reins.
The lozenge mouthpiece creates a soft break over the tongue and eliminates the nutcracker action of a single joint. The lozenge also applies a small amount of pinch pressure when required, bringing the horses head up and in.
With a titanium bit, the horse produces abundant amount of saliva, which helps relaxing the neck muscles and thus encourages acceptance.
Smooth to the touch, each bit will surprise you with its extreme lightness, even though it is made of pure solid titanium: the optimum choice to provide the best conditions for strength, performance and beauty.
